Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to be a teacher. While growing up my father told me to choose a career that makes me excited to go to work every morning. I found out pretty quickly that what made me happy was being around children. My true passion and love in life is working with children.
I believe that all children can learn. The first step in assisting children in learning is through creating a positive and safe learning environment. I plan on providing this type of learning environment through modeling behaviors I wish to see in my students such as being respectful, a good listener, trustworthy, and being dedicated to learning. I also believe that you need rules and guidelines within your classroom to help create this type of environment. Through having classroom rules, guidelines, and discipline procedures it will help ensure the safety and respect of all students.
My goal as a teacher is to plant a seed of curiosity within them. I want my students to know that they sky is the limit, and that they can truly do anything they put their mind too. As a teacher I feel like it is my job and responsibility to help children create goals and find ways to accomplish these goals. It is important to instill the want, need, and desire to learn and to question the world around them. I want to create a love for learning within my students.
As a teacher I plan on taking on many roles for not just my students, but for their families and people of the community as well. I will be their educator, supporter, cheerleader, coach, and nurse. I will be a role model, friend, and guidance counselor. Most of all what I hope to be for my students, parents, and members within my community is simply a helping hand.
